Cerenion accepted as the only Finnish entrant into the trans-Atlantic MedTech Bridge program

Cerenion is excited to announce it has been selected to take part in a new two-way program between the Nordics and the USA facilitating the expansion from one medical device market to the other.
The MedTech Bridge program is a non-profit initiative run by the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and funded by a three-year philanthropic grant totaling $1.3 million from the Danish Industry Foundation. The initiative establishes a bridgehead in the USA via the Medical Alley cluster in Minnesota and fosters the building of a trans-Atlantic community and expedited entryway for Nordic medical device companies looking to enter the US market.
"MedTech Bridge has a simple mission: Shorten the distance between local MedTech innovation and the US market", says Tim Damgaard Christensen, Program Director.
"This new program provides Cerenion with an exciting bridge across the big pond, and a community for solving many common questions regarding, for example, regulatory compliance and business development", continues Dr. Ilkka Juuso, COO and co-founder of Cerenion.
Cerenion, who is currently expecting to receive regulatory approval for its C-Trend® brain monitoring technology in Europe, is actively planning for its entry into the US market.
"We feel both grateful and bolstered by this show of Nordic comradery in welcoming us into the bridge program", remarks Dr. Jukka Kortelainen, CEO and co-founder of Cerenion. "We look forward to the program as a medium for learning and doing, and also sharing our experiences with our peers", he continues.
Cerenion gratefully acknowledges the support of Health Capital Helsinki and OuluHealth, as well as the European Regional Development Fund of the European Union and the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment in North Ostrobothnia in seeking the appropriate regulatory approvals and bringing the Cerenion C-Trend® index to the international market.
MedTech Bridge is established in close collaboration between Danish and US partners. The program became a reality in 2018, thanks to a grant from the Danish Industry Foundation. With two hubs in Denmark and US, Medtech Bridge is perfectly positioned to enable a fast track connection to the #1 health tech cluster in the world, Medical Alley in Minnesota. https://www.medtechbridge.org
