The 50th Computing in Cardiology (CinC) conference will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA on 1st - 4th of October 2023. Cerenion's Software Architect Miikka Salminen will be one of the speakers!
CinC is an international scientific conference for computing in clinical cardiology and cardiovascular physiology that has been held annually since 1974. An essential part of the annual program, since year 2000, is the PhysioNet challenge, where participants are invited to develop solutions to tackle clinically interesting, unsolved questions.
The challenge for this year's congress was "Predicting Neurological Recovery from Coma After Cardiac Arrest". The task was to design and implement working open-source algorithms that, based on provided EEG recordings and routine patient data, could predict good and poor outcomes for patients. The challenge was a perfect fit for Cerenion, because C-Trend® has been validated to do exactly that. "That’s why we wanted to pursue the opportunity and participate", says Miikka.
So, he got an invitation from the Program Committee, and is now getting ready to present. "This is a really interesting opportunity, both personally and professionally'", says Miikka. "I like to work at the intersection of research and commercial product development and look forward to the trip."
We invite you to listen Session S62, ID96 - Computationally Efficient Early Prognosis of the Outcome of Comatose Cardiac Arrest Survivors Using Slow-Wave Activity Features in EEG.
